HE’S GOT THE FIRE AND THE FURY AT HIS COMMAND
< September 5, 2008
The Hero Three Amigos — Darren, Andy, and Jason — are back from PAX with a good report! They tell me there was strong attendance (as much as 75,000, by some calculations) and plenty of interest in Champions by way of the MMO. It’s not RPG-centric enough for us to have a major presence there, but partnering up with Cryptic was a great way to expose our products to a whole new audience. Our three new books — The Atlantean Age, Monster Island, and The Book Of The Destroyer — were all well-received. If you don’t have your copies yet, stop by the Online Store and pick ’em up!
Meanwhile, work continues apace in the Character Point Mines. Andy’s just about done with layout on Scourges Of The Galaxy, and after that he’ll take care of Shades Of Black as well. I’m focused on Urban Fantasy Hero. I’ve finished Chapter One (which analyzes the genre and its elements) and am now working on Chapter Two (character creation). When I need a little break from the more serious stuff I work on bits and pieces for the mini-settings in Chapter Four. ;)
Product Highlight: The Ultimate Mystic
While working on Urban Fantasy Hero, I expect to consult our fine book on magic and mysticism in gaming on numerous occasions, so I thought it deserved a shout-out:

The Online Store is currently running another special! For a limited time, if you purchase $50 or more of books or other physical products from the Online Store, we will include a special item from the Hero Vaults, hand-picked by the Office Goddess herself, Tina. So act now before the vaults are emptied!
And that’s the week in review here at Hero Games. Come back in seven for the latest news, updates, and information. ;)—Steve Long
